Did anyone else enjoy Dave setting up a bank after a visit to Giles at Zopa Towers?
Other than the fact that I would have to go to Burnley in person to set up an account and that savers are dependant on a personal guarantee from Dave Fishwick, the saving account would probably become a personal best buy!
NS&I eat your heart out!!

Classic Cars

Following a suggestion from Fatbloke, I am starting a thread on classic cars as an investment. I don't subscribe to the theory that it is easy to make money with old cars, I'd suggest that losing money is almost certain and smaller sums than usual is a victory. In a previous thread, I noted my past form:
"Back in the '80s, I bought a Ferrari from HM Customs & Excise that had been seized after a drugs bust. I had to borrow for the purchase and the new petrol tank and spare wheel that had been sawn in half. Just after I had finished re-commissioning the car, Enzo Ferrari died, so it's sales price went through the roof. To me, a big profit, notwithstanding the huge spares cost and the labour required. To call it a successful investment would be a complete lie, it was just dumb luck. I have bought and sold classic cars since then, but any profit has been incidental."
Fatbloke's starter for 10, will the Honda S2000 become a classic, as not many were made and a lot have been completely bent?
My take: yes, there're great to drive, basically reliable and induce fanaticism in owners. Being a two seat ragtop is also a strong indicator.
