Only joined yesterday and have tried to transfer money to start lending but my bank is not on the drop down list. How do I proceed?
Thanks

Hi Nuna, when you say drop down list I'm not sure what you mean? I vaguely remember there was a link on the site for lenders to check if their banks supported Faster Payments, I can't find it now but maybe that's what you're referring to.
Does your bank support Faster Payments do you know? If it doesn't that's OK it just means it'll take longer for your money to get to your Zopa account as it'll move by BACS payment. Whether you bank online, by telephone or traditionally you need to set up your bank a/c with the necessary details to send money to your Zopa account. When you're logged into Zopa on the list on the left click on Transfer money in, then you'll see details for Zopa's account name, number, sort code and your unique reference. Don't forget to use this reference it'll ensure the money goes straight to your lender a/c and no one else's. If there's no reference number Zopa will have to manually search to find who the money belongs to.
If you send a payment now before the end of the working day, around 1630 to be on the safe side, and it goes by Faster Payment it'll arrive in your Zopa account around 0930 Tues morning. If it's moving from your bank via BACs it can take around 3 or up to 5 working days. Funding payments only get credited during the working week not w/ends.

I had a similar issue when first using Natwest Online banking (I think, I also have other accounts). I eventually found out that there was an "other" option on the screen before the dropdown list for "sundry payments". This then gives you the option of entering sort codes, account numbers and reference as mentioned by Figs above and you are away!

Thanks for the advice. I was able to do the transfer from my bank's online site.
